Hard landings result
when harsh realities meet
A flight of fancy

a world loosely limned
carries off the unjaded
in happy rapture

black dog for Winston
he was a lousy gambler
dice rolling in blood

my hands to my ears
blocking other's siren songs
yet my own sings on

un-giant's causeway,
a non-Ikea non-room,
the outside unclosed.

Branches reaching far.
Grab and hold the giant star.
Dismayed, darkness falls

fragile translucence
made quick by the sun's first touch
the infant stirs
