Distracted moment
Life's course changes forever
Never to return

---

One single B'loon
one loon against
a world of Corinthians

---

little balloon nods
magnificent edifice
lacking helium

---

in awe of marble
she loosened hold with a breeze
and continued on

---

My congressman had
one lucid thought, but it escaped
during spring cleaning

And good to see the schoolgirls taking a break from their homework duties. Very good.

Curse you A! I've now got that stupid song going through my head.

And was it TAA or Ansett that had that song in their ads? Hmm... I just had a thought - there's an entire generation now that have never heard of either of those two names. Bloody hell, we're getting old.

It was TAA...my aunty was an air hostess for them at the time the Ad came out.."up up and away with TAA the friendly way to fly" or something like that..I used to like the "singapore" girl ad...A

Now I remember - TAA, the friendly, friendly way. And your aunt and my mum, ha ha.

And thanks FB. Ya cynic! And are you sure it's Corinthian? It could be doric...

the building in question is helsinki cathedral, a name in english which I don't quite understand unless it is to mindfuck foreigners, ie marketing. the straight translation of its name from both finnish and swedish would be doom church. or maybe church of doom would sound better...

anyway. of course they're corinthian. how could anything doric satisfy a russian tsar?

Ha Ha! I went and looked it up. Yep, it's Corinthian, not Doric, not Ionic. They're actually easy to tell apart. You'd think I'd know this what with having done it at uni. Well, one lecture anyway...

So! Brownie points to FB and P, and yah boo sucks to me, ha ha.

Oof! Either they make soft cathedrals or hard balloons where you come from. Otherwise nice to see you back matey. It's been a while. I've been meaning to write you an email but, you know... you and everybody.

And how's Pele? Not too cross I hope.

I let P2P rest my case. Me, I'm too modest - Cynical but modest. Actually I looked up before I posted. Not a bad principle but I'm too modest to say, really.

I like Schutters too.

nobody said...

Careful FB, you don't want to start a modesty pissing contest with me mate because I'll eat you alive. I'm way more modest than you, easily in the top 3%. My modesty makes yours look like crap.

And yeah, yeah, the Schutte, he always writes the best haiku. Mind you, he's fucking hopeless at being modest. Where is he now? Nary a word and not daring to show his face. QED.

I will graciously bow to your superior modesty :-)

Damn! That was a test of my bladder and no mistake. But happily I only weed myself a little bit and no harm done.

What a fantastic dog! The funniest thing I've seen for ages. Seriously - I just now had to wipe the tears from my eyes.

Thanks P.

maddie the coonhound, what a fellow. internet has been very kind with me lately, also landed on this rarity.

well I thought the balloon looked like a sperm anyway, probably something Freudian. I got meself busy and did not check in for a month or so. Read some good Haiku though in the back pages. Some puffed up ones, and a couple of straight on killers.

This week's is good isn't it? Best for ages. I don't envy the poor bastard who has to choose five of them.

Hi Nobs,

I wanted to send you some pickies but I lost your e mail address in the last crash and Blogger isn't helping. Do you still have my e mail otherwise how do I get in touch with you?

FB, this is just a personal opinion (driven by my very ordinary memory) but is that the best haiku you've ever written? Really very good.

And John! Ha ha ha, what a cracker. My laugh of the day.

This pic brought out the best in everybody I reckon. P has a real talent for capturing a moment of indescribable familiarity doesn't she?

It was worth leaving up for a little bit longer but now it's time for a new pic. Up shortly.
