chaos

completed, yet begins again

thru halflight haze,
miracle and mystery

who are you?

Um... still working on mine.

NB. I found this picture on the net. Should the parents or the photographer miraculously find their way here, I do apologise for so blithely appropriating it. I ask forgiveness and say in defence that we are not using your baby's photo to sell anything or make money, but merely as inspiration for poetry. Marvellous photo by the way. Hats off.

Unsure, yet enamoured. Life.

Onya Pen,

I can't blame anyone for getting gooey with this photo.

As for me, I had a problem. It's been niggling me for a while but I wasn't able to put my finger on it until just now. Normally haiku come from an individual impression and in as few words as possible convey that impression. Here, under this arrangement, we do things arse about. We all get the picture first and then write something about it. We're not trying to convey the impression of the pic because everyone has seen it. Can you dig it?

So I wrote two haiku. The first is standard and conveys an impression to someone who hasn't seen the picture. For someone who has seen it and for whom this message might be banal I modified it.
Me, I like the first one.

I like all them all!
kikz: great!
nobody: though they are both good, I lean to the first one myself.
as for my gooey haiku?
babies do that to me, and thoughts of my own child as an infant, inspired that one.
