5 - 7 - 5
Haiku are a form of Japanese poetry that are written in three lines with a syllable count of five, seven, five. But don't let that stop you writing whatever you like. There are no fascists here and any contribution you wish to make is welcome. Here we seek the sublime, and if we can't have that, we'll just have a laugh. It's all good.
With the current picture as your inspiration, pile in to the comments and have a go. At the end of the week I pick five and put them on the front page.
As the Japanese say - Let's enjoyment haiku!

First :D
Looking sad, happy,
confused, excited, hyper.
This picture shows what?
Skye, we were waiting for you to tell us!
As for last week's pic, ayah. Low turnout, but some nice pieces. Anyway, like I said Su, by way of expectations...
in this delusion,
anything beyond one's grasp
isn't really real.
what's the commotion?
hysteria fills the air,
is panic the goal?
BTW. This photo is by the mighty Weegee, who's mostly famous for his lurid crime scene photos. And this is one of them. The crowd here is standing around a body in the street. Weegee took other photos besides crime scenes and all up he's an absolute giant.
Yeah, sorry about that one Nobody, I kept looking at the pic and absolutely nothing came forth.
Hm, a little piece of history on the artist and pic, I may just be able to come up with something else here then!
What happened this time?
Poisoned, stabbed, molested, shot?
The horror of it!
Crime scene number 1:
We have a crime, time for an
Investigation!
Nah, I don't like either of these :(
in the madding crowd
a thousand fears and desires
fight with each other
fear and confusion
alter the fluid movement
something has arrived
Nobody,
I had come and looked at the picture and was awaiting to see what came up and then you told me it was a murder scene and the creative juices stopped flowing.
I noticed when you refrain from any comment or information on the picture that you get the greatest response.
Too much information stifles free flow.
Just my opinion - which sucks at the best of times.
From Belgium,
Workmen through a fence
Ghoulish body in the street
No ones here to help.
Thanks Su, that precise thought had occurred to me. That and many others ha ha. Which is to say, I'm thinking that this party game has kind of run its course. But I do love the haiku blog and I'm not going to ditch it. But I am going to change it completely. As soon as I can get around to it there'll be a big shake up. Ideally I won't be running the show. I'll just be another contributor. All I have to do is figure out how to set it up.
Yoroshiku.
Fun fall ritual.
Nit combs- a required tool.
Schools in, lice are too.
I ignored all comments and put the first thing that popped into my head into haiku format.
Kids shreiking as lice inevitably goes around a school in the early fall.
Of course it took me forever to get around to it......
oh well!
