once, effortless friend
now, brigand thief of my youth
i curse you daily

---

Iris, who are you,
do you look out or within,
where does one begin?

---

Golds, browns, black, and white.
Nothing reflected but light.
Nothing gained but sight.

---

some buddhists insist
this eye is only crying
light in water out

---

And the Eyes have it!
Or was it really the nayes?
Blink and change your mind.

---

truth is in the eye
some can't hide an empty dark
in others it's love

---

Neither the seer
nor the object seen
but the pure unalloyed seeing.

---

Can the brain deceive,
what it is the eye perceives?
If so, what is real?

Um, went with a standby this week. Maybe something a bit more eclectic next week. Last week's lot got posted in order of receiving. Ha! Seemed to be right thing to do.

a familiar image forms.
Oh wait, the lens cap...

Not fair to give this to an iridologist.

Hello folks. I've been a bit absent what with the Devotion to Aergia having officially started yesterday. The Goddess is pleased it seems.

But I meant to say - Yes Kikz, eyesight. Hey Pen, you too? It seems my period of being the only member of my family not to wear glasses is at an end. Weirdly enough it's only one eye, but it's driving me nuts regardless. And I used to have such brilliant eyesight. I really must get around to booking in with an ophthalmologist.

Waitaminute! Su, are you an iridologist? Do tell! What does this picture say to you? All curious, me.

su, i'm interested too.

fer godsakez mags..
get rid of the readers if they're OTC...
they'll only fuk up your vision more...

i've read up on CVS, computer vision syndrome.. it's me to a tee. i just got fitted for bifocals (w/lines can't afford the progressive nonlined) that i know in my heart of hearts are goin' to drive me nuts. i'll probably only wear them to read..only thing that is somewhat botherin my longview are the floaters...
my god, why can't somethin be done inre floaters...
for anybody that doesn't know from floaters.. ever see the opening of the tv show 'house'.... well.. those are floaters... but a hollywood version... they just aren't that uniform in shape.

being farsighted i can accommodate (and ignore floaters for the most part) but the extra strain of the overwork is givin me headaches. just recalibrated my monitor's 'native profile', and had to take down the contrast as i think it had been too high, that... and ambient glare were washing out the text.

i've always had the vision of an eagle... now i'm startin ta feel like mr magoo. sigh...

hey noby, i'm definitely havin emotional trauma over this.. gaaaaad!

hey su, can you recommend any decent eye exercise program that might help? and.. p.s.
i have a few dark spots/dots in both lower regions of my irises.. do those correlate w/any internal organ probs uneye related? i'd heard something to that effect years ago, but didn't verify w/the eye dr...

I see the whole world.
Alas I am Nobody.
The world does not see.

One eye blind, one good.
But what is it that is seen?
True justice is blind.

Well there is too much to be put into a limited format so as requested this is what is seen:

Greatest areas of weakness
pancreas, thyroid, bronchials.
Panreas being the most serious.
Unless radical action is taken - headed for deep seated osteo arthritis.
Toxic gastro.
Dehydrated big time.

Mental/Emotional:
Lots of conflict with father/son.
Dominated by emotions.
Huge need for love.
Scurf rim on edge - has come to earth with huge purpose but has not realised it.
Procrastination.
Competing with brothers/father.
High sense of duty and responsibility.
Workaholic.

Nobody - do you know this being?
And how does this reflect.

Neither the seer
nor the object seen
but the pure unalloyed seeing.

That is extraordinary susana, what a great skill you have there.

a google search for 'Devotion to Aergia' is interesting, we can't believe such a devotion appears so singular.

nobody said...

Very good! Er... no I don't know whose eye this is. I can't even remember where I picked it up. I've had it for years and used it as a 'colour map' for making 3D eyes. Terrific haiku though.

And the old Devotion to Aergia, eh? I'm thinking the goddess would be prepared to have me expend energy as long as it was in a good cause, ie. singing her praises. Back in a bit.

kikz,

The Bates eye excercises work brilliantly - it is just to do them.
He also claims that if you close your eyes and imagine something you know well (your child's face) and pick up as much details as possible that you will improve your vision. As the same muscles, nerves, fibres used for seeing, are used for recall.

The other thing is to make sure you have opportunity to look into the far distance as often as possible.

On my blog there is a iris shot of my eye, with some black spots - tell me if yours are the same, then I can tell you more.

And last thing the eyes are related to the liver. My eyes were so scratchy and useless last year that I went on a liver flush and a liver friendly diet with lots of gentian and cleavers.
The difference was amazing.
And then of course there is that question you have to ask yourself and that is "what is it that I am difficulty looking at?".

weary of the iris
request a change of image
perhaps some inspiration.

nobody said...

Inspiration is the word! I've been stuck for some and no mistake. Otherwise I've been a bit existential lately and not quite sure what anything is for. Poor of me I know. I think the answer to existential questions is to not ask them. Don't think, just do.

Anyway since new pix get posted on weekends, I'll put up something on Saturday. And they do say a holiday is as good as a change, so what with having had a month off, we can all come back refreshed and ready to squeeze the sublime into seventeen syllables. Ha!

nobody said...

Squeezing the sublime.
like one squeezes an orange.
Ever fruity, me!

su said...

The sublime being
totally removed from the subprime
is offering you a rhyme

nobody said...

Susana! You blew it!

But don't worry I fixed it -

The being sublime
totally removed from the subprime
is offering you a rhyme

or better still -

'offers you a rhyme'

there, five syllables.

nobody said...

People once did time,
in old Japan for the crime
of haiku with rhyme.

Hee Hee

Um, they didn't really, I just made it up.

su said...

Okay off to the naughty chair I go.

nobody said...

Yes quite right too.

Actually I've never heard of a naughty chair. I take it that it's a place where one sits and contemplates naughtiness? Not a bad idea. I've always contemplated naughtiness wherever but to have a specific spot for it seems quite sensible.

Ha ha ha, crack me up! And didn't I do well keeping a straight face there? It wasn't easy what with images of Michael Palin as a berserk cardinal filling my head.
