The Death Knell concert
not a call to all, just one.
Can you hear the song?
---
Bright lights, loud music,
All Hallow's Eve again,
The death rattle plays on.
-
Tequila Sunrise
Bloody Mary's and beer
The drinks are flowing.
---
Hot music blasting
through agave lenses: "Is
that Oingo Boingo?"
-
Eating spicy black
bean mole with dark angels
in Tenochtitlan
-
Dust swirls about
my weary head along the
road to Oaxaca
---
Once in Oaxaca,
In a bar just like this one,
I lost a girlfriend
---
rock and bone muse sick
maybe even dead--who cares?
we got prayer flags!
-
Party on in Hell!
Play until Orpheus comes,
then we're going Home!
-
Skeletons woke up!
Experienced before now.
they knew what to do!
---
wind blows the dust back
the hideous music, shrill
behind the hard fence

I once had a knine
He was a Dingo
I won him at Bingo
couldn't understand his Lingo
his accent was Oz
and he pissed on his paws.
Yep Haiku sucks like a Dyson.
Bloody Philistine Indeed, Hah
Remember those films,
where the guy gets amnesia?
A good crack cured him.
Ha! How keen I am to see violence committed upon you today, Silv. All for your own good, of course...
And Skye, stole my thunder! Damn.
Marvellously stoned,
and tequilas all around.
"Let them dead men play!"
And yes John, I get the irony. I don't do the green man, but I do do dia de los muertos. The thing is that this pic works even for those who don't know what it means.
Yes that is a good turn, but how come you don't put some of your own haikus up after, share and enjoy n'all? you must have a few of your own that you like, this is a place for everyone which should include yours, 'tis a book we write together no?, just my f'pence worth.

I once attended the Day of the Dead
drinking way too much and being well fed
then I fell straight to my knees
when the band played "Who Do You Want To Be"
and the whole night went straight to my head

Hey Mir,
The single most fabulous meal I ever ate was some of that black bean mole. It was like I died and went to heaven. Give me peasant food every time.
And John, the explanation for me not going on the front page came right at the beginning when I introduced the haiku by way of the church blog.
The theory, such as it was, was that I would be picking the best of whatever went into the comments and posting them on the front. And to preclude any sense of, I don't know, favouritism, or whatever, I wouldn't post any of my own stuff. I seem to recall declaring (in best Aubrey style), "You can't say fairer than that".
But as things stand I post pretty much everything. But I do exercise discretion occasionally, by leaving the odd one out or by bumping one I particularly like to the top of the page. Given that that's the case, I'm cool with not posting mine.
And like I said to you before, this isn't really my blog. Okay, it IS my blog but by the same token if I was the only one here I wouldn't bother. Really I groove on the gathering.

Pen, is that your best yet? I think so. Perhaps you should crack your skull more often...
Once in Oaxaca,
In a bar just like this one,
I lost a girlfriend
schutte
Poor old Schutte,
so many girls lost that way.
Or did they lose him?

Skeletons woke up!
Experienced before now.

No eyes and no ears,

The plumber from Leigh,
and his fair maid by the sea -
