5 - 7 - 5
Haiku are a form of Japanese poetry that are written in three lines with a syllable count of five, seven, five. But don't let that stop you writing whatever you like. There are no fascists here and any contribution you wish to make is welcome. Here we seek the sublime, and if we can't have that, we'll just have a laugh. It's all good.
With the current picture as your inspiration, pile in to the comments and have a go. At the end of the week I pick five and put them on the front page.
As the Japanese say - Let's enjoyment haiku!

PS If this makes no sense, I'll explain later. I'll just leave it as it stands for the now.

I am just having a hell of a time with this one, I have worked more and more on this then either of the other ones!
why?
I have a concept in my head, but can't get the words to work!
AAAAArghhh!
I think I've head my head to much in the global warming scam as of late.

Kikz, that's a cracker. Which is to say very good.
Hey Pen, it's the easiest thing in the world and at the same time, murderously difficult. And if your head is scrambled, this is as good a remedy as any.
Just so you know, I don't choose these pix because they prompt me to write. When I pick them I have no idea what will result. In fact my haiku here was the third thing I came up with and bears no resemblence to the first one.
Mostly I try to pick something that isn't banal and might concievably suggest any number of things to people. That's the theory anyway. Yoroshiku.
OK FINALLY!!!!

Nobody: I have been waiting for an explanation, cause when I read yours I was googling spitfire, to see if it was some type of mythical creature, car or plane?
I'm lost?
Sorry Sorry,
It's an old obscure word for a dragon. I, not unlike everybody else, thought of scales. But I gave this dragon a double duty insofar as he was the furnace that made all this stuff. Kind of thing...
And now it and it's products are dead and doing nothing more than protecting us from the elements that remain. Kind of thing...
Otherwise, Pen, well done. I like it.
And Lua, beautiful girl, long may you break all the rules!
In case anyone is confused, Lua is an old buddy of mine and one of my favourite people in the world.
when hot and thirsty,
in a choice between the two,
I'll take the beer thanks.

Thanks folks,
Well I thought that was brilliant. Onya Buffy. A fine effort.
And I do hope the PM will forgive me for wondering if his effort didn't involve his tongue being curled ever so slightly cheekward. I think a ceremonial voodoo-burning of the Australian Commonwealth Public Service Guide to Haiku Grammar and Syntax is in order. C'arn PM let your hair down mate!
New thing tomorrow after I photoshop out the logo tonight.
Thanks nobody!!
I Blush! :)
Penny sent me this way - she's right it's certainly fun! I'll have to watch out for the next pic now!
