inconsolable
her life a distant shore
ever receding

---

met her at the pub
we was merrily singin'
but she had the blues

---

with cottage cheese thighs
scoliosis brace unbound
it's valentine's day

---

fumes of paint thinner
naked in your blue embrace
imagination

---

split second frozen
the woman as a young girl
bombing from the pier

sudden violence
her body hits the water
too shocked to laugh

Hey Boys and Girls,

Never mind the smaller turnout last week (yeah, yeah, troll etc), I thought the haiku were very good. To a certain extent if I only get five good haiku then I'm perfectly happy.

Mind you, I kind of knew what we'd be getting last week. This week: I have no idea. Hell, I don't even know what I'll be writing. So! Pile in.

As for our Swedish troll- if you write a haiku you stand a chance. (The rules are on the front page). If you ain't here for that, then... you ain't here! And you can't say fairer than that.

it was a long night
eyes tinged with melancholia
lost in her own world

words now meaningless
the warmth of life begged
let illusion die

Nice one John. I like all of those. Mind you, was the first one recycled from last week? Smiley winky thing!

And hullo anon. Interesting, interesting. You should definitely hang around. And get a moniker. Without one, you cause us all to effectively suffer from Alzheimer's, ie. each time you pop in we're never quite sure if we've met you before. Besides which, in the grand scheme of anonymity (and no mistake, our heads are there, if you can dig it) it'll make no difference in terms anyone knowing who you are.

Anyway, very good.

yes, the first haiku was a segway from last week's.
this haiku is a nod to the album cover of guns n roses use your illusion, which probably snuck into the last haiku subconsciously.
