Beers and beer coasters
Music, smoke, and low gold light
"Boys! I'll Tell Me Ma!"

chose gin over vodka
moved from the east to the west
fuck karaoke

a whiskey i want
louder, forget our worries
the old shillelagh

Tears on my red cheeks,
Laughing louder than all week,
while we all tune up

stepping out for air
marched to the pub double time
left the bar reeling

Hello Boys and Girls,
Sorry it was so long between drinks. I've spent the last couple of weeks dividing my time between three places with never more that a couple of days in any of them.
And last week! What a cracker. Choosing five was murder. As is, I put in six what with P's efforts being so good (not forgetting it's her photo). The Schutter won't mind that I left out his Akihabara one I'm sure. I already raved about it last entry and besides which it's his own fault for having written another equally as good.
Also hats off to FB, our two Johns, and Tony. Tony, have you noticed you're getting better at this? You should pop in more often.
And speaking of the Schutter God knows he's going to love this pic. It's a subject very dear to his heart.
Anyway, that's all yet to come. In the meantime, I have to thank our best bud P for that brilliant phote. And whilst I understand that there's a temptation to ask P who it is, I vote that we don't ask and she don't tell. Between knowing and being mystified, I prefer the latter. Particularly when it comes to women.
Oh, and Kikz popped in (last entry) to see if there's anyone here who might be interested in Templar history. It's a bit of a church blog thing but since here is where we are, it's here.
Thanks Kikz, I'm off to check it out. And would it kill you to write us a haiku? Ayah...

the old shillelagh
Hee hee, very good. And a shillelagh? What? John, I like that haiku but I don't understand why there's a shillelagh there. Is it impending violence? Or perhaps it's the town? Or perhaps you'd rather not explain? I'm good either way of course, but I am curious.
I used to have a shillelagh - two actually, a long and short one. I have no idea where they are now of course. Lost I expect.
the ole shillelagh is an irish bar in downtown detroit that has traditional drinking songs that everyone sings along with.
so i guess the impending violence is fitting in a way (atleast to the stereotypical view of detroit) ...
Ah! Very good, it all makes perfect sense now. And not a bad name for a pub neither...
Otherwise P, what did you think of last week's effort?
The roof of "The Celt"
Shivering, no coats,shared pipe,
Jigs and reels to come.

I loved last week, and not the least because I had to take it a bit personally for the pic was mine and me. oddly enough, I can place myself to stand behind every haiku you picked for the front page - they all have a hint of my sense of life in them.
or well, for the exception of not knowing who is bettie r?
was it Bertrand Russell?
Thanks John - Bertie R, not Bettie R. For a while there I was stumped, with the best I could come up with being Bettie R = Elizabeth R = Elizabeth Regina = The Queen. Mind you, was Bertrand Russell a queen? I can't recall.
And P, it was you was it? Ha ha ha. I suspected as much. But here's the thing - had I known it was you, I'd have written a different haiku. It's interesting how small things like that will change your angle completely. It's like a haiku butterfly effect or something.
Anyway, the only mystery now is: who was the otaku? I hope it's not me.
PS. For those who don't know the Celt is an Irish pub in Tokyo's downtown. The Schutter and I used to frequent it but I had no idea it had a roof nor that people had pipes up there. Such wickedness, having pipes and not telling me about it... terrible.
I only found out about the roof late in the game from some japanese guys who had the creps. I also learned that celtic sessions became awful silly after smoking that stuff and starting to think about how cool it would sound if right in the middle of "whiskey before breakfast" I started reciting the Revolution will not be Televised. Nobody would have been in hysterics. BTW, where did you get that photo? and also speaking of irish... have you ever seen the youtube vids? New ones come and go.

Gil Scott O'Heron!
As for the phote: google images natch.
O'Heron laddie, we hardly knew ye.
no, he isn't drunk,
just doing thelonius,
if he played fiddle
stepping out for air
marched to the pub double time

He won't like me telling you this but English John's full name is, wait for it... John E Walker! Boom Tish!
240 different whiskeys here. It's got your name all over it.
Drink!
Wow, what a place. If only they didn't spell 'menus' with an apostrophe.
Hmm... I wonder if we could use their misspelling as a stalking horse to have them thrown out and me (ie. someone who has the right name and knows how to spell 'menus') installed as Squire?
This could be big. I'll get back to you.
PS Boys and Girls, click on John's name (and then his blog) and have a look at his pix of Okehampton Castle. I want to live there. Do you think anyone would mind John? If I just went and lived there?
This blog reminds me of what jazz is to music: mastubatory.
sigh... don' know what it is.. my muse has left me (weak smile)..
hmmm okehampton.. hub's peepz hail frm there :)
hope ya liked the templar history over on secretsun :) thought veritas might hav an interest...
there's a newer entry on the kennedy snuff, so scroll on down...
To lie with another man is sin said...
either has an unclear understanding of what jazz really is, or seriously understands masterbation better than I do.
der schutte
Wait, I am still having trouble with this analogy guys. If, Jazz is to music= masterbation, then... this blog is to (what)=masterbation
This analogy is not following the format I learned in Middle school. I am aswim, adrift, I say. I am as the beasts that perish, forsooth.

Ha ha ha, this seems to be a spillover from Aangirfan's blog (which I connect to from the front page of the church). There was a variety of one-note, bee-in-his-bonnet arsehole there who was unhappy that Aang was discussing things gay without the requisite note of screaming condemnation.
And now he's made it his mission to go to every blog Aang hangs out and yell and wave his arms about there. I stuck up for Aang over at one of those blogs (Kenny's) and now it seems even this distant neck of the woods is equally deserving of his ire.
Mind you, he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Here, he's been leaving his comments at posts more than ten days old (which come to me for approval first) and what with the lag in his comments appearing is convinced that I'm censoring him.
---
Hey mate, fuck knows what's going on in your head, I certainly don't. But we've seen a dozen tedious table-banging gits like you come and go and we ain't impressed. And you can get on your high-horse about being censored if you want to (not that you have been yet) but I'm the wrong guy for that. I will censor you. Without even blinking an eye. And you can bleat all you like, I don't give a shit.
Here's the thing you see: What is it you want to achieve? And: How are you going about it? ie. What are you really achieving?
Between what-you-want and what-you're-actually-achieving I don't know what the first thing is (and to be honest I doubt you do either). But the second is easy - what you've actually achieved is to perfectly convince us all that you're an ill-mannered git most likely beset by mental problems.
So, should we give you a round of applause for achieving some thing you didn't really want? Or just say bye-bye as you wander off to have a think?
But never mind all that - I really don't think you're up to it. I suspect you're that variety of guy who keeps doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result each time. And I'm the guy to oblige you! Keep writing your table-banging shit in here and see if oblivion doesn't result. Up to you. Ciao.
And just back from statcounter. Sweden is it? Hur är vädret där? You do know that you're not quite as anonymous as you think you are yeah? Oh, and look, there you are hitting two separate posts, here and the one preceding. Idiot.
Anyway I've got your number in statcounter now and I'll do the rounds and put everyone in the picture. It's the least I could do.

Hey the Schutter - sorry I meant to say, it's a red herring mate. Expend no thought in that direction.
Whilst it's true I get vicious with trolls (you ain't seen nothing here - the church is the place) I never talk about what they want to talk about.
Did you ever read The Meaning of Liff by Douglas Adams? It's just about the funniest book I've ever read. Anyway, the word there that counts is clabby. In the blogging world clabbies aren't so much time wasters as they are harmony disrupters. Anyway it only works if we all agree to a be a party to it.
You can pile in with him if you want but in all likelihood I'll be blitzing whatever he says so it'll all be meaningless afterwards.
And hello Kikz! It's just like old times ain't it? The apple onion? Who? As for Veritas, I don't think he hangs around here. You'll catch him at Aang's or Kenny's or AP's.
BTW. I'm starting the church back up. My desktop is choked with ideas, I've run out of grass, and now is the time. Anyway, Veritas will be in there I'm sure.
ciao ciao
Hi nobody and all. Have I missed all the hooha?
You could live in Okehampton Castle nobody but I don't reckon you would be able to get away with a sarong and thongs (flip-flops) in the weather that will be turning up soon. Okehampton is a notoriously wet and windy place and then there's all the snow. Mind you it is lovely the rest of the year. Maybe a holiday home. You'd get plenty of visitors.
Hey Kikz, your hubz people come from Okey? It's a small world isn't it?
Cheers all. I'm off for a mastubate, whatever the hell that is.
naw nobody... I cannot bear Dougles Adams. Just not my cup of tea. In fact, I know its pathetice, but I am deep inside HMS Surprise for my fifth go around of the series. Since I figure its the best and funniest writing ever and ever, I keep going back every couple of years and doing it agin. Jack you have debauched my sloth! Could any line be better?
derschutte
Hmm... perhaps he also misspelt 'jazz', cough, cough.
But the thing is, he hasn't been back so I suspect he's just hit and run.
Otherwise it's possible the gay thing is a red herring. Either way, he'll give himself away soon enough. At this point, whilst I think it's unlikely he's another stevie_b, I'm not dismissing it entirely. What's also possible is that they threw the old disinfo book out and have come up with a new one. Hmm... not a very good one but whatever...
And sorry the Schutter, is that double dutch? Ha ha ha. The church-goers will know what I'm talking about.
But! This isn't the church, it's the poetry blog so we'll leave our Swedish git behind and I'll post a new pic shortly. We done this one yeah?
thx noby*
yep.. john... his oldest vector is one.. dagorious (sp) trebarfoote...

Trebarfoote is a Cornish name I think. They must have moved up the coast a bit, it's not that far though. Will check out the secretsun, that sounds interesting. Thanks Kikz, I'll go back and have another look.

Hey Kikz, he seems to have gone and stayed that way. Quite right too.
Otherwise, the writing went to hell. I'm quite busy this end what with buying a van and kitting it out.
