shots of my mother,
found upstairs in an old book,
pressed like a red rose.
---
many tried to copy
the pout, the breasts, the allure
none chose the despair
---
things done and not done
twists and turns and trails of smoke
how things might have been
---
It’s done – the deed, oh!
Now she tries to protect you,
"Jack, Jack… I’m waiting."
---
unbeknown to her
she would star in a dark tale
sadly her last role

the thousand yard stare
its object lost in the fog
a dream in a dream
Sorry, I was away with the pixies there. I meant to say, good effort last week. And onya Su, you knocked me off - very good, my laugh of the day.
Otherwise, last week's was hard but this week's is much more, um... 'accessible'. This is a great pic. Well this crop of it is - it's much more powerful than Avedon's standard crop which is full of distracting bosoms. And hats off to bosoms but it's the face that's full of power here.
Okay, take it away boys and girls.
NB. the phrase candle in the wind is verboten.

What I can do with that candle
Oh lovely candle.
Was that last one a bit naughty?
What a tremendous picky though. The reduced number of half tones sure adds impact.
it is the dead stare
that gives this person away
for eternity
FB - in answer to your question: yes, that was a bit naughty.
As for the pic it seems to have some kind of damage to it. Whether it's in the print or some digital artefact, I can't tell (there is no other crop like this in all of googleimage so I have nothing to compare it to) but regardless, as mistakes go, it really works. You know what I mean?
Was I too forward?
First I see anger, but then,
consideration....

See! I knew it was worth leaving this here a bit longer. Anyway that's enough of Marilyn. Now for some colour - a specific shade of blue I have in mind. Or not me so much as Matisse.
