Stillness beckons me
Moving forward through the air
Encompassing all

---

Stillness abounding,
river flows 'neath a full moon,
a life filled with peace.

---

blossom in moonlight
with gentle architecture
in structures sublime

---

Eventide on empty vale
Spirits roam but are not seen
To rest and ponder

---

The waters of life
nourishing sakura dreams
until tomorrow

---

A moonlight kiss at night
Water's affection glows bright
Their love, makes things light

---

the struggled control over
finally relaxing into the flow
i return to the source

This is by Hiroshige, who along with Hokusai, Utamaro, and Sharaku, belongs to the rank of first-amongst-equals in ukiyo-e (Japanese woodblock prints). I have a dozen or so ukiyo-e prints but could never afford one by the likes of Hiroshige.

Anyway Hiroshige is most famous for his '53 stations of the Tokaido'. This is not from that series and what with it lacking the usual title box I suspect it's a one-off, ie, non-series.

PS Click on it for full rez. It's worth it.

That is beautiful
this picture that you posted
I smell the apples

I feel the cool air
Of Spring as the night moves in
Under the full moon

Not a breath of wind,
the river undaunted flows,
to a patient moon.

There, that's better.

Look at the full moon,
Trees stretching to reach the sky,
Mountain peaks, river flowing.

Oh, and I should have apologised before for having been absent for so long. And I'm glad I didn't lose everybody. Onya Buff, Skye and John. Whilst I can't blame them, I hope the others haven't given up.

Perfect stillness -
the stream murmurs without sound.
The moon holds its breath.

Thanks for the heads up on this site; I have not come across anything like this before. This is my first attempt at anything like this so I expect it will not be as good as some of my later work :-)

Very good FB. Sterling effort.

Guess it's about time I bring my seventeen syllables worth back to the well.

For what it's worth, the image of the badly deformed fellow and his caregiver in the bath messed with my head. Words simply weren't capable of rendering what I wanted to express -- which is not a standard occurence, as my usual verbosity level likely reveals -- and I fell out of the habit.

But like most habits, it rarely takes much effort to fall right back into familiar old patterns... =)

And yes, would be delighted if you used it.

Cool. I hope your daughter isn't disappointed when people write things that don't accord with her intentions. It's the nature of the beast. Inspiration that is...

And did you guess that my last effort here was, um, all about you? With a nudge from Mir and Pen of course...

Anyway, the new pic will go up this arvo.
