You know, the efforts for last week's pic were actually better than I thought at the time. You did well folks.

Our John Frampton takes top spot. Mind you, he did have the advantage of knowing who it was. But 'cheating' or no (ha ha), it was a great haiku regardless.

But of all the people who didn't know, I thought the spookiest piece came from Susana. Nice one Su. You take the coveted non-haiku end spot.

Oh! And if anyone disagrees with my take on David, feel free to pile in and say so. A stoush about the nature of art is always worth having and I never think poorly of someone who has a view different to mine. Funnily enough, I don't dislike David's art. He's clearly a technical genius and that alone will warrant my admiration.

God I just read Susana's again. Folks, go do it. It's REALLY spooky.

Susana, (hell, everyone) if you feel inspired, then by all means break the rules! That's not to say breaking the rules is a guarantee of getting it right. Sure enough. But in an argument between 'getting it right' and 'breaking the rules', the former wins. You can all dig it, I'm sure.

Nobody,
When I saw his face and the challenge what immediately happened was I blocked off his right eye and then his left eye and on each single eye, found a completely different person. Just go and look at it this way. Right side is masculine and the outer world and inner is feminine and the internal realm.

Cool. Interesting technique. It worked obviously. His face was deformed you know. Variously by a sword wound or a tumor, the story seemed to change. It was far more evident in real life than in his portraits sure enough. Anyway off to look again, covering each side!

isn't that interesting su.

I saw it as two faces to one person.
I put a piece of paper one side , then the other, dividing the face in half.
It was like looking at two faces on one person.
With each half having it's own emotional response, not just the eyes, the nose, the lips (the way they curled)
I saw conflict.
