It doesn't take much,
step back, zoom out, keep going!
Where is the me now?

clown google-earth's it

The world's our oyster,
With technology it shrinks,
Come and play in it!

the world is a feast
but psychopaths don't get it
they bite the table

Over here we see
An historic piece we think,
early GPS

Dorothy clicked her heels.
Then went back to Kansas
There's no OZ there anywhere.

chart conquest and empire
make slaves of the world

And here be Dragons
Fiery breath, leather wings
Cast shadows on lands

Man, and 'that not man'
with promise and menace both.
Two worlds collide.

To steal a concept from Nobody, I'll make my first haiku :-)

Land masses collide
Shipping lanes disappearing.
We need a new map!

lands and boats both drift
people on both are shooting

We have a squished world
in a bankers cold-poled vise.
So interesting!

Silv, you're only a heartbeat off mate. Everything was there except for the count. Just to give you an idea, I'll tweak it into 5-7-5.

Dorothy's heels clicked,
taking her back to Kansas.
Because Oz was gone.

kind of thing...

Hello Clown,

Nice to have you drop in. I definitely grooved on that one.

Maggie, what book are you on? I've read all of them I can find, can't wait till the next one comes out this fall, I just hope it will be as good as the rest. Seeing as the original artist passed away last year, there's someone else finishing the series for him :)

Hiya Skye!

I'm just starting book 5. I am loving it!! I was reading George Martin's series but got all angry at him since he hadn't finished the last ones - yet... grrrr!!

My sis recommended Jordan's Wheel of Time and I'm so happy. I needed a diversion from the real world!

Glad to hear you liked it too - his characters are truly alive and his writing wonderful to say the least - I sure hope those finishing the series keep true to his style!

Buffy, have you read New Spring yet? It's a prequel to the series and tells how Morraine Damodred and Suan Sanchez are raised to Aes Sedai. It helps in the understanding of the rest of the series, and yet, even if you don't read it, it really doesn't make much difference.

Sorry for taking over your blog like this Nobody!

Hi Skye,

No I haven't read it - but will now. It's hard not to have mixed feelings towards the Aes Sedai, tangles webs and all! Perhaps I'll read it once I've got book five done, before I soldier onto the sixth.

I'm so mad at Elaida right now I could strangle her!!!

And yeah, sorry Nobody for taking over your haiku blog! ;) It's just these books are so DARN good!!

;)

Hello, no not me. Obviously some other idiot, ha ha. No I'm still wandering about. I'll be back day after tomorrow.

Um, sorry I didn't do a pic this week. I wasn't near a computer. And besides absence makes the heart grow fonder. Of haiku, that is.

Oh wait. Sorry Kikz, that was me. Was that the fray was it? It was somewhere and I didn't look around or figure it out.

I blame it all on statcounter. It was such a deluge, all I could do was keep an eye on the arrivals category. If something interesting popped up I'd drag the address into a window to see what resulted. And occasionally I'd pile in. But it was all strictly hit and run with me as dizzy airhead instantly forgetting that I'd been there, ha ha.

Sorry for the confusion.

BTW I'm pretty certain that that Tovya cove is very small potatoes. I only got a tiny number of hits from him and I suspect most of them were people from here anyway.

Oh, and I'm back home now. But I shan't post for a bit. I came back to find the old man in a bad way and the apartment unspeakable. He seems to be eating now and I'm half way through the scrubbing. Back on board shortly.
